Host a House Concert

Your Town. Your People. Your House - Our Moment.

Behind the Artist: Chaz Mazzota

Born in the beach town of Hobe Sound, Florida, RIAA Platinum Producer - Chaz Mazzota took the stage at 16 and hasn’t looked back. Although he spends the majority of his time crafting content for other Artists, he “moonlights” around the US as an independent artist. With his catchy melodies and groovy rhythms, he swings his inspirations into one thing. A vibe.

House concerts are an intimate way to experience live music in your living room. For me as a performer, they are the coolest, most connective, interesting, and worthwhile concerts. I’d love to come play in your town during my next tour!

Steps to Host the Perfect Night

  1. The House: Just about anywhere! Amazing shows happen in the living rooms, backyards, and back patios of houses big and small. Everyone must be able to gather in the same space and seated for the show.

  2. The Guests: invite 2x the people you want! For the show's quality and feasibility, please plan to have at least 20 guests present. (adults only please, an hour can feel like a little too long to sit still if you're 8)

  3. The Invite: "This is a donation-based concert". In your invitation, please ask your guests to RSVP. There is no suggested donation; everyone is welcome regardless of their ability to donate. Click Here for an Example Event/Invite

  4. The Concert: Guests arrive 1-HR before to mix, mingle and settle in. After a brief Introduction, the 1-HR show begins. I play originals with a few familiar songs sprinkled in as well.

  5. Donations: The success of donations is directly related to the speech the host gives at the end of the show. It's best to use some sort of receptacle from your home for donations.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! it is a "Donation-Based Concert". There is no suggested donation; everyone is welcome regardless of their ability to donate.

It's great to be able to earn some money at these events. It furthers what I'm able to do and it proves to others artists that house concerts are a viable way to make a living.

Let me know if you'd like a notecard to use at the end of the night as a simple script for asking for donations.

It's best if you have some sort of receptacle from your home that can be used for donations.

We'll leave it at the front near/on my keyboard/setup so people can make their donations privately.

  • The Audience

Invite your friends and neighbors, encourage them to spread the word to their friends as well. With house concerts, people come not because they necessarily know the performer but because hearing live music in the comfort of your own home makes for a special experience.

  • We try to limit the concert to guests age 18 and up, but if you contact and ask permission before, we may make exceptions.  You are the best judge of the potential behavior of your children.  The show seeks a “listening room” atmosphere for the performance. The performance is not to be considered background music for conversations.  So if you've got a mature 10-year-old who will sit still and enjoy the show, by all means ask about bringing them along!

  • Absolutely!  I do supply a sound system used for every concert. The performance is always amplified to the extent that everyone can hear. Not too loud for earplugs either. It's a house show!

  • If you like, you can offer drinks and snacks and/or invite people to bring something to share. Some house concerts supply a full meal while some are a pot-luck.

  • Yes! I may have some merchandise for sale during the concert. It is best to designate a spot for laying out CDs and other merch near a common area people can see.

  • For any artist on tour, a room for the night and a home-cooked meal is greatly appreciated! Not required!

Step-By-Step Information

  • Nope! Amazing shows happen anywhere. Living rooms, backyards, and back patios of houses big and small. You’d be surprised how many people fit comfortably in an average living room when you move some furniture and bring in small chairs.

All you need is a space big enough to seat 16 to 40 people or more.

Everyone must be able to gather in the same space, seated, for the hour-long concert.

Pre- and post-concert mingling spills into other areas, but for the concert, everyone should be gathered closed and seated together directly in-front of the performance.

Don't have enough chairs? No problem - I can help bring some. Otherwise, carpet seating in a packed living room or blankets on the lawn work great!

  • Send your invitations about a month before the show. Ask people to reserve seats. You can use a service like Eventbrite to automatically track RSVPs or I can supply you with an RSVP link to share.

Sending out reminders dramatically increase the attendance. Make sure to send out a few leading up to the show.

  • I'll arrive about an hour before the guests to set up and soundcheck.

Guests arrive at the decided-upon time. I like to hang out and mingle for an hour as everyone arrives and gets settled.

When the concert is ready to start, everyone takes a seat. The host (you) will give a brief introduction and then I'll perform for about an hour.

The show is always a different depending on the night and the audience. We're all there to experience and create something together.

I usually play mostly originals with some familiar songs sprinkled in as well.

As soon as I've played the last note of the concert, please join me at the front to conclude the show and show off a receptacle of some kind (vase, basket, or box) for donations.

Let’s be friends.

Send me a message and let's get a show going!
