An Interview With Adam Burch
Tells us about the song you are performing for the Nashville Pop Artist Spotlight. What is it about?
“It's a r&b track about my relationship with nature and my autoimmune disorder. I once presented the song to a band I worked with in New Orleans who rejected it, so I made my own garage band version of it, but wasn't satisfied, so I'm in the process of recording it with some Nashville musicians.”
What inspired you to start playing and making music?
“Seeing my dad jam with my guitar teacher after my first guitar lesson”
How would you describe your process for writing?
“surrendering, listening, and allowing”
What is your favorite thing about being in the world of music?
“Creating with and learning from other artists.”
What is your least favorite thing so far?
“Selling and promoting. The insane amount of money and effort it takes.”
Who is your local "Artist-To-Follow"?
“Fiona Maura”
Any advice for new a new Artist in Nashville?
“Lead with your heart.”
Describe your worst performance. What did you learn?
“Unprepared, Humiliating, humbling. Failing the plan is planning to fail.”
Which skills have you gained to help you give the best performance as a musician?
“Listening is so important. Listening to my inner creative voice of knowingness. Also listening to other artists when playing with them and their feedback.”
What qualities do you look for in a fan or follower?
“A Genuine Reaction/ Connection. Sincerity.”
