An Interview With Beachmont

Tells us about the song you are performing  for the Nashville Pop Artist Spotlight. What is it about?

“Honestly about my walk with music and how I got to Nashville. It shares inspiration throughout the lyrics and has a bit of a spiritual meaning to it. Energetic, fun and a little bit of a spin of a classic at the end! One of my favorites!”

What first got you into music? How did the journey begin?

“I started drawing guitars when I was a kid, and my parents bought me a toy guitar for hanukkah one year. Eventually my dad got me lessons with an old motown guitarist that retired in Omaha. I would find any music opportunities I could in Nebraska which got me into theatre and choir and playing in cover bands through School of Rock. I ended up playing for my local School of Rock’s house band and the international School of Rock AllStars where I met a bunch of friends that introduced me to Berklee College of Music where I ended up studying Songwriting/Performance and production.”

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

“bad 😻 or if you gave bruce springsteen a laptop with ableton, unbridled access to facebook marketplace, and he was raised by two crotchety old jewish people in Nebraska”

What does your music represent?

“A love for where I grew up twisted with a desire to be somewhere bigger”

What is your creative process like?

“We self produce so sometimes it’s an acoustic guitar and a voice memo and sometimes it’s a fun synth line or track we’ve got going.”

If you were to open for any 3 artists, who would they be?

“Bruce Springsteen, Sam Fender, Bleachers”

What is the best advice you’ve been given so far in the music industry?

“if better is possible, good is not good enough”

What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

“probably found dead in miami”

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

“finding a community of people that relate to you”

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives such as yourself?

“go to shows even if you don’t know who’s playing and buy merch from artists you like”
