Tells us about the song you are performing for the Nashville Pop Artist Spotlight. What is it about?
""Boy Next Door" is about being so physically close to someone yet being worlds apart emotionally.”
What first got you into music? How did the journey begin?
“I first got into music in high school when I took a songwriting/production course at a local studio. That encounter unlocked a new way to express my emotions and experiences.”
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
“I would describe the music that I typically create as Indie Pop or Alt Pop! I also write Christian Pop and Worship.”
What does your music represent?
“My music represents vulnerability,”
What is your creative process like?
“My creative process is a muscle that I try to exercise daily! While many times I am inspired by real life experiences, some of the best songs flow from a daily practice of creating just to create!”
If you were to open for any 3 artists, who would they be?
“Valley, COIN, Nightly”
What is the best advice you’ve been given so far in the music industry?
“Wake up every day and do what you love, until you wake up every day and do what you love. - Pete Bishop”
What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
“If it weren't a career in music, I think that I would be pursuing a career in design (fashion, graphic, interior).”
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
“My most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being able to connect with others through shared experiences. Whether it be playing shows, writing songs, or simply listening to new songs, I love that music has a unique way of creating connection.”
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives such as yourself?
“I think the best way for society to best support artists and creatives is to be educated on the lives of creatives! It's important to know the ups and downs of the industry and have a better understanding of a creative. The best support will come out of that understanding.”
