Tells us about the song you are performing for the Nashville Pop Artist Spotlight. What is it about?
“Loved By You: I wrote this song during a hard season in my life, marked by financial stress, a demanding job, & an uncertain future. The lyrics speak to a foundational truth in my life, which is that no matter how difficult or shadowy life may become, that my greatest strength in life is the love I share with my family, and gift of Grace from God”
What first got you into music? How did the journey begin?
“I’ve sang for as long as I can remember. I started writing songs that when I was in elementary school. I would create lyrics and melodies in my head and record them on a tape recorder in my room. As I got older, I started bands and learned to play chords on a keyboard my parents bought me for Christmas. I just never stopped”
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
“Most of my music these days fall somewhere in the pop/R&B genre. It’s the case most of the time, but not always. I also draw influence from Country & Singer-Songwriter artists that I listened to in my childhood”
What does your music represent?
“Love, Hope, Joy, & an expression of life”
What is your creative process like?
“A lot like throwing paint at a wall and molding it over time into something I like.”
If you were to open for any 3 artists, who would they be?
“Justin Timberlake, Mac Ayers, or Anderson Paak”
What is the best advice you’ve been given so far in the music industry?
“Never stop creating.”
What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
“Acting, Vlogging, & Creating Content”
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
“Working with and helping other people.”
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives such as yourself?
“Just create genuine community. Listen to each other, lift each other up, and have a greater “why” than clout.”
