Tells us about the song you are performing for the Nashville Pop Artist Spotlight. What is it about?
“It's about deciphering between the sources of your inner voices and convictions, and how the older you get the less sure you become and missing the peace of naivety”
What first got you into music? How did the journey begin?
“Honestly there was never a "moment" - ever since I was born it's been all I am and do, As early as 3 years old, I remember playing the beach boys on piano because music was magic and I wanted to participate!”
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
“Experimental self expressions”
What does your music represent?
“My most full and adulterated self. Which I have fun, laugh and dance, but I also cry and wrestle with existential questions, regret, and I constantly search for purpose. This comes out in both lyrical content and even the expression of sound I produce and arrange.”
What is your creative process like?
“No process! I just sort of *do it* and it just *happens*!! Sorry!”
If you were to open for any 3 artists, who would they be?
“Paul McCartney, Paramore, Childish Gambino”
What is the best advice you’ve been given so far in the music industry?
“While playing B3, if you can't play what you're playing with one hand, you shouldn't be playing it.”
What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
“Waiting to get off work from my job to go make music at home”
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
“Understanding myself, and being understood, via making the internal - external.”
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives such as yourself?
“Just consume it! And don't consume it lazily! Fight for your attention span. Attention is the scarcest and most valuable currency, in my opinion, so spend it wisely!”
